Taylor Swift és una cantautora Americana nascuda a Pennsilvània el 13 de desembre de 1989. Al 2004, la cantant va marxar a Tennessee per perseguir la seva carrera en la música country. Al 2006 va començar a destacar en el gènere musical amb el seu auto-nomenat àlbum i amb el seu segon àlbum, Fearless, va començar a fer-se famosa. La seva música ha anat evolucionant i desprès de dedicar-se al pop un temps, aquest any ha tornat al country amb els seus dos últims àlbums: Folklore i Evermore.

La cantant és bona capturant l’amor juvenil i el desamor i Teardrops on My Guitar és un clar exemple. La cançó va ser publicada el 19 de febrer de 2007 i és un dels dos singles del seu primer àlbum. La cançó tracta sobre un amor d’institut i està basada en una de les experiències de la cantant. Simplement sap com capturar com se sent pel fet de ser jove i estar enamorada d’algú que està enamorat d’una altra persona.
